Importance of Sleep
ByWhen you are asleep, your body is desperately trying to recover and repair itself at every level–not just your muscular structure, but the tendons, ligaments, cartilage, joints, and central nervous system as well. Getting good sleep on a consistent basis is a huge part of how your body “feels” when you are awake! Hormones such as dopamine, HGH, testosterone, and seratonin (these are all hormones that keep you happy, healthy, and energetic, and give you nice skin and hair and sex drive) are balanced and circulated at the highest levels when you are in what is called the R.E.M. sleep zone (deep deep sleeping, usually between 3 and 6 AM).
